Airport –Phuentsholing (150 Kms / 3-4 Hrs)

  • Arrival in NJP (New Jalpaiguri Railway Station) 
  • On arrival proceed towards Phuentsholing, it is a border city on the Indo – Bhutan Border, 60 kms,2hrs, Phuentsholing is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian plains, situated directly at the base of the Himalayan foothills. It is a fascinating mixture of Indian and Bhutanese, a perfect example of mingling of people and their culture. 
  • After reaching Phuentsholing proceed to Immigration
  • Check in the hotel, Dinner at the hotel.

Phuentsholing - Thimphu (176 Kms / 5-6Hrs)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After having breakfast. 
  • Complete your immigration & drive towards to Thimphu (7 hours drive 176 kms 4 km) and visit Kharbandi Gompa-( Phuentsholing) the beautiful monastery that is situated in garden of tropical plants and flowers. 
  • The monastery contains paintings depicting scenes from the life of Buddha and statues of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
  • From the monastery garden there is a splendid view of Phuentsholing and plains of West Bangal.  
  • Further proceed towards Thimpu. 
  • In between the route have a lunch stop. Five miles, before Thimphu.
  • Visit Simtokha Dzong- the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies.
  • Dinner at the hotel in Thimphu. 
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu.

Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After having breakfast have a visit to Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. 
  • In the afternoon  have a visit to Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery, Taking Preserve Centre, The talking national animal of Bhutan can be seen here Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).
  • Dinner at the hotel in Paro. 
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.

Thimphu - Dochula Pass - Punakha (85 Kms / 2-3Hrs)

  • Breakfast at  the hotel.
  • After having early breakfast at the hotel, proceed towards Punakha (3 hrs drive 75 Kms) 
  • Drive up to Dochu-la pass (3,088m/ 10,130 ft) stop here to take the view and admire the Chorten stupa, Mani wall, and Prayer flags that are decorated at the highest point on the road. If sky is clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (left to right): Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m ), Kangphugang (7,170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m ), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - finally Gangkarpuensum the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,497m.
  • After having breakfast visit to Punakha Dzong- built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative center of the region, PunakhaDzong has played an important role in Bhutan's history. Damaged by four catastrophic fires and an earthquake, the Dzong has been fully restored by the present King. 
  • After the visit to Punakha Dzong. Have a visit to Nunnery which is located on the top of Punakha Valley and later can go for rafting.
  • Overnight stay at  the hotel in Paro.

Paro Sightseeing

  • Hike to Tiger’s Nest Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest) falls in top 20 places to visit in the world.
  • Paro is a valley of religion and myth. The most famous landmark, Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), stands on a granite cliff about 1000 m above the valley.
  • It is believed that Guru Rinpoche, a famous Buddhist saint, flew to Paro on a tigress and meditated at Taktsang. The monastery is   considered a national treasure of Bhutan.
  • The hike to Taktsang would take us around 2 ½ hrs to reach a cafeteria, a point from where one can enjoy great view of the monastery. Those who can walk easily walk further 45 minutes uphill to get a closer view of the monastery. 
  • Walk down back to road. The journey downward to the road would take us less 1 ½ hrs.
  • After having lunch take a walk towards Paro Bazar for shopping. (Breakfast & Dinner)
  • After exploring the market take rest at the hotel in the evening.
  • Dinner at the hotel in Paro.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.

Paro - Sightseeing

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After having breakfast from the hotel. 
  • Check out from the hotel and on the way see the Paro airport bird eye view. 
  • After seeing Paro airport eye view, visit Ta Dzong - National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha, etc. Rinpung Dzong - Meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". 
  • The dzong now serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro.
  • Transfer to next destination – Phuentsholing 
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at Phuentsholing

7Days
Paro – Phuentsholing

  • After breakfast Bhutan High End Tours representative will escort you till the airport and bid you farewell. (Breakfast)

  • The hotels serve both Vegetarian & Non-Vegetarian food which would be basic & freshly prepared. Specific regional Indian cuisine will not be available. Only the basic Indian Vegetarian / Non – Vegetarian food can be arranged.

Restricted Area Permit for Punakha 

  • If you have sended color scanned passport copy in advance we will take punakha permit in advance.
  • If you are traveling with the Voter id card or not sent your passport in advance. The special permit for Punakha will be processed in Department of Immigrations, Thimphu; in production of the entry permit.
  • This special permit is given only after guest has entered Bhutan. 
  • Permits are not issued on Saturday, Sunday & Bhutan Govt. holidays.

DO'S:

  • Adults must carry original & valid Passport or original Voter ID card. 
  • Children must carry original & valid Passport or original birth certificate.  
  • Remember to carry and other packings as per seasons and personal requirements (including hiking shoes)

  • Tobacco & Tobacco products are banned in Bhutan.
  • Do not bring any plant or agricultural product out of Bhutan. It is illegal.
